generation gaps

After years of working and playing the social games in the grown-up world, parents often forget what they knew (if they ever knew) when life was wide open with infinite possibilities. Growing older, they get so tied up in the details of daily survival, they forget their dreams and drift far from the collective emotions of humanity. That is why, so often, music does not reach them and they talk of superficial things just to seem like they know something. Maybe just to distract themselves from something they can not handle, like the state of the world or like their own emotions and dreams they left behind or the limits they have accepted in their minds and their lives. It is understandable that a young person still seeing life as infinite possibilities would want to die before they get old. Here is the point: You do not have to die young.

It is a challenge to grow older and still remember dreaming and still feel the shared experience of living and still let the music in, but it is possible. Do it. If just to piss them off*
