Bring an animal into your life, a pet*, I mean, and you are bestowed with the blessing of constant companionship and the curse of never being alone. I does not matter that they may never tell, in this life at least, the secrets you keep all to yourself and things that you do when you think nobody is watching, they know. Just look into their eyes if you have doubts about this. It may not be an issue for those who have not risen above the co-dependant developmental level, but for some of us, including the pet, it can be a slow trip to the madhouse on the other side of the ah.

Experiments should be done to ascertain the specific short term and long term effects of long term and short term lack of privacy.
