Was the ultimate message of The Time Machine the suggestion that conformity was relative and arbitrary and certainly not all it is cracked up to be? To think out of the box. To dare to be different. And perhaps the spell of the moment, the truth of collective consciousness is not quite as meaningful, eternal, or proprietery as we might think?

Even if that spell is a god-spell. Godspell. Gospell. Gospel.
