We (safety in numbers) are bound to offend people today, as we stretch imagination and perception and reason (and maybe a little rhyme from time to time) beyond the limits of commonly accepted thought or political correctness.

We could just say fuck off to anyone offended, for when you are aware that it is not what is outside of you that offends, but how you take it in and react inside of you that actually offends you, then you know responsibility is yours for your offense and you might offend the rest of us by sharing the offensive way you take things.

We could apologize as if we are ignorant to your responsibility for choosing to try to manipulate others to think the way you do by finding offense within yourself. We could accept some pretense of responsibility for your small or inflexible mind. We could further pretend that such a gift is not intellectual charity, but then, that should offend you even more if you were aware and we'd like you to be aware, so we won't.

But we are bound to offend, that we will.


Note: Don't worry, we have no desire to assimilate you. We have enough trouble keeping our own minds open and do not need the extra work you would entail. You are welcome, though, even if it's just for the hell of it.
